creative economy

We used to discuss the economy, but a check of the dictionary reveals that that single economy has split into a number of identified economies, such as the gig economy (workers employed on individual contracts), the blue economy (sustainable use of ocean resources), the attention economy (human attention is treated as a commodity, as in advertising).  The latest of these is the creative economy, that is the value and growth generated by human creativity.  The big areas of productivity in this economy are advertising and marketing, film and television and radio, software and digital development, architecture and design, the arts, fashion, and cultural heritage.  This is an area of the economy where jobs are created and tourism is boosted.  It produces exports.

The creative economy in Australia is a big contributor to the national GDP and increasingly a source of employment growth.
