smart glasses

Smart glasses is the general term for eyewear that has a computer built into the frames.  Audio glasses or hearing glasses have wearable audio tech — speakers and microphones for the reception of phone calls and music. They might be camera glasses with a camera in the frames so that you can, unobserved, take photos and record video.  Or they might be AI glasses which have an integrated AI assistant. They can project text and images into your line of sight or become a virtual screen for immersive virtual displays. In general the frames are thick for obvious reasons and the popular colour seems to be black.

It is the camera glasses that have drawn the most flak and earned the name pervert glasses. There are issues of privacy here that have not been addressed.  You might be videoed without your knowledge and that video posted on social media. Now that these glasses have become relatively cheap (less than a hundred dollars) and readily available this is suddenly a concern.

By contrast audio glasses are welcomed as a convenient hearing aid so it is not all bad.
