rizz

Do you have rizz? If you have to think about it then you probably don’t.  Rizz is the ability to attract someone of the opposite sex by being able to flatter, tease, produce attention-engaging word play.  Rizz is not exactly smooth-talking.  It is more like a verbal display that pulls the girl in. To rizz someone or rizz someone up is to seduce them with cool flirtatious word play.

It is thought that rizz is short for charisma, which seems credible. It is said to have been coined by a lifestyle vlogger on Twitter, Kai Cent, who said it was central to his dating philosophy. In this context charisma is what will get the girls, charisma that depends on your ability to dazzle the girl with verbal glitter. Now it seems that rizz is not gender-specific, as the images above show.

Thus the arrival of the phrase unspoken rizz. People who have this kind of rizz don’t need to say a word.

Having rizz is linked to another expression from Black American English, spit game or talk game. The original meaning in the 1970s was to discuss the finer points of prostitution but as the phrase was generalised it came to mean ‘to flirt’. Rizz is sometimes defined as spitting game.
