climate justice

This is the justice that is sought for those affected by climate change, such as climate migrants.  This is to be achieved by developing climate law, which currently does not deal with many of the situations arising from the changing environment. The response has to be at the level of international law, but also it has to be part of national law and private law.  It is accepted that the people who are least responsible for climate change are the ones who are suffering the gravest consequences of it.  The response to climate change has to have a moral, ethical and political component. The term has been around for at least a decade but is becoming mainstream in Australia.  A contender for Young Australian of the Year, Madeleine Diamond, attended the awards ceremony this year with CLIMATE JUSTICE in large letters across her chest.
