mental health

So frequently are we discussing mental health problems and mental health conditions that the phrase mental health is acquiring severely negative connotations.  We have now reached the point where mental health is assumed to be bad so that when you say ‘I’ve got mental health’ you mean that you are depressed or suicidal or schizophrenic. Help can be offered: What do to if you have mental health? It’s an odd shorthand which is undoubtedly distorting the base meaning of mental health.  But it is increasingly common to be suffering from mental health.
