AI slop

We have had a long time to come up with various descriptions of writing that we think is less than the best.  Hackneyed, stale, prosaic.  And the writer dismissed as a hack or a pen-pusher.  And the product as spam.  So now we are beginning a similar assessment of the output from AI, whether it is text or images or a combination.  AI slop is the name for the bland offerings generated by AI which, at best, lack any spark of originality or interest and which, at worst, are full of errors and misunderstandings.

AI slop can be produced in great quantity and at great speed, a factor that is important in electioneering. When it is intended to manipulate the voting public, then it is referred to as slopaganda.
