cuddle bed

A bed designed to meet both the medical needs and the emotional needs of patients and caregivers as in palliative care or in the nursing of pre-term babies.  The bed is larger enough for two but can be separated into two single beds as required.  It meets all the nursing requirements in terms of functionality, as with pressure relief mattresses and ease of use.  It allows a parent or loved one to be close to the patient and even to sleep there overnight.

The provision of this facility has given rise to a new kind of therapist — the professional cuddler.  For a fee this cuddler will spend time with you, waking or sleeping or a bit of both, in the cuddle bed.  Patients can relax and possibly unload some of the issues in their lives.
