post-COVID psychosis

This is a psychosis that follows a bout of COVID-19.  It can be just a mild case, but the sufferer may never have experienced psychosis before which makes it terrifying.  The link between COVID and psychosis is not clearly understood but it is thought that it is caused by brain shrinkage resulting from the triggering of the immune system.  There have been instances of this psychosis following on from Spanish flu and from other coronaviruses such as SARS and MERS.  It is very uncommon.  The symptoms are sleeplessness, paranoia, delusions, depression and changes in personality.
